Now that the holiday season is upon us, many of us are invited to parties that serve alcohol. The last party I attended I was with a co-worker who drank a little too much and made some statements they would later regret.
Alcohol can be enjoyed if done in moderation. However, during these tough economic times when people are stressed more than usual it is easy to fall into drinking more to ease the stress, especially if it’s free and “we’re enjoying the season”. It is a temporary fix to a long-term problem. During the Christmas season many people find themselves a little more depressed, stressed, and anxious and alcohol can take the edge off. Sometimes drinking regularly can result in a drinking problem. Becoming addicted to alcohol can creep up on you before you know it. Don’t make the mistake that many do thinking they have control over their drinking. Just when you think you have control you may lose it. Be careful during the holidays and don’t drink and drive. Never let friends and relatives drink and drive! Keep the roads safe!
Enjoy the holidays and be healthy!
